FINCA VICTORIA

Ayurvedic Boutique Hotel & Panchakarma Retreat Center

LOCATION

Finca Victoria sits atop a hill surrounded by luscious vegetation and the soothing symphony of the native Coqui frogs. Located on one of the highest points in Vieques, Finca Victoria enjoys amazing sunrises and sunsets.

The island of Vieques has hardly any light pollution— creating the perfect atmosphere to see the stars at night. On the clearest of nights, even the Milky Way becomes visible for stargazers to admire.

Given it’s magical location, Finca Victoria is the perfect place to gift yourself a full reset of the body, mind, and soul.

A day at La Finca

Every day starts with a stunning sunrise. The rest is up to you.

Might we suggest you begin with coffee or tea in bed? Then, enjoy our complimentary morning yoga in the Maloka. Later, enjoy our fresh, vegan, Ayurvedic breakfast at the Pavilion— in the heart of our property. Once you’re full, you could dedicate the afternoon to exploring the stunningly varied landscapes of Vieques.

We invite you to come tan by our sweet-water pool and lounge in our pavilion as you wait for an Ayurvedic treatment in our wellness center.

End your day by enjoying dinner in town or make an intimate, home-cooked feast in your fully equipped kitchen while watching the sunset.

Our cabins, houses,

treehouses & airstream

Every room tells a story…

Sylvia De Marco lovingly conceptualized and mindfully designed each unit. The details of the different spaces make each one unique and special in its own way.

All the units share the same amenities— comfortable, organic mattresses, high quality bedding, air conditioning, fully equipped kitchens with Ayurvedic spices and oils for your meal preparation, and a deck, terrace, or balcony to enjoy the fresh air from your hammock. Oh! and did we mention every room has an outdoor shower?

The Treehouses

The Treehouse Series lodging units were designed in collaboration with artist, Rogelio Baez, using Bauhaus and nautical references. These sculptural structures have been custom built in metal to withstand the temperamental Caribbean weather. Its wooden walls infuse the treehouse with a magical nostalgia. All of the treehouses have spectacular views— some are nestled in the tree surrounded by palms and tropical vegetation, and others have a magnificent sea-view.

The Houses

Our cabins are private and tucked into nature.  All the cabins are built from metal and wood with high ceilings and slanted roofs. The individual cabins— perfect for couples— are loft-like and spacious with private terraces and spectacular garden views.

Meeshel’s cabin— which can host up to 6 people— has a second floor with beautiful sea views from both bedrooms.

The Cabins

These structures are Finca Victoria’s centerpiece. Designed by architect, Bill Parker, they honor the beautiful architectural style of Caribbean “Casonas”. Our houses have beautiful high ceilings supported by wood beams and slanted roofs. The houses feature cool cement floors, wide open spaces, interconnected balconies and terraces, intricate nooks with gardens and hammocks, and lounging areas full of light and cross-ventilation. They are decorated with original artwork, local ceramics, and vintage furniture. All bedrooms face the sea or the gardens.

The Airstream

The newest addition to Finca Victoria comes in the shape of a 1973 vintage airstream!

This gem is in pristine condition. It lives nestled on what used to be our herb garden. Its floating deck overlooks the scattered gardens and the property— making yet another perfect spot to watch the sun rise and set. Its deck has an outdoor lounge space and hammock— surrounded by decorative magenta plexiglass that dances in the sunlight. The airstream also features the hotel’s signature private outdoor shower.

The Estate

Are you looking for your own private retreat with family and friends? Or maybe to host your own yoga retreat?

We are delighted to offer you the opportunity to rent our entire estate.

This includes 11-14 private double-bed sleeping units and all communal areas— ie. gardens, Pavilion, sweet-water pool, indoor/outdoor living spaces to gather, dining area, industrial hotel kitchen, and use of the Maloka.

Please also feel free to ask about catering options by our private chefs.

Vegan Ayurvedic Breakfast

Each morning in our Pavilion, we serve a lovely vegan, Ayurvedic breakfast to our guests from 9:30-11:00am. The breakfast dish changes daily, however, it’s always accompanied by our fresh coffee and homemade herbal tea. Set in the heart of the property, our beautiful Pavilion has many tables to enjoy your meal from— all surrounding the pool and overlooking our lush gardens.

Every Room Has a Kitchen

Every unit has a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to prepare a meal— ie. stove, microwave, electric kettle, fridge, ice bucket, cookware, dishes, utensils, cutlery, an in-house spice blend, olive oil, fresh coffee, and a signature tea.

In our Vieques Guide we share info about our favorite grocery stores and local restaurants also.

COMMUNAL AREAS

The Pavilion & Pool

The heart of the hotel is our Pavilion-- which is exclusive to our guests. It is a large, open structure overlooking trees and our sweet-water pool. Here you will find numerous lounging areas, as well as a work space with excellent WiFi. Complimentary, home-made teas and coffee are available 24/7. You’ll also have access to our industrial ice machine here. The Pavilion opens to our pool and its zen tanning areas— surrounded by tropical flowers, palm trees, and other lush vegetation native to Vieques. You can find our host here from 9:00am-5:00pm to assist you.

The Maloka & Yoga

The Maloka is our newest structure with a stunning ocean view. This area is dedicated to our daily yoga practice, and serves as a gathering space during private retreats. Its floating deck is open for guests who wish to practice meditation. Our morning yoga classes are focused on matching breathing with movement, alignment, and creative sequencing. Expect crisp, morning air, a beautiful Savasana under the open sky, and the sounds of singing bowls to close the practice. If you can’t join us in person, we invite you to join us at 8 AM AST/ 12 PM GMT through our daily live-stream.

Our Gardens

Finca Victoria sits in the mountainous interior of the island. Therefore, it is more tropical in flora and cooler than the rest of the island. In our microcosm, you’ll discover native trees, fruit trees, tropical flowers, and lovely creatures— like our coqui frogs.

You’ll also find the herb gardens that provide us with fresh herbs for our teas, meals, and herbal treatments in the spa.

We welcome our guests to explore our delightful gardens found throughout our property!

WELLNESS RETREATS

GROUP PANCHAKARMA

Once a month, we dedicate a week to our transformative and exciting Panchakarma Detox Retreat. The collective energy that happens when a group of people decide to step into a healing program together lends power to these retreats. A group of strangers start their individual journey, each moving through their peaks and valleys with the support of our knowledgable staff. They leave as family and friends— having experienced the wisdom of Ayurveda, shared meals together, moved in unison during yoga, communed in meditative spaces, and exchanged life stories.

Ayurvedic Detoxes are a very complete system tailored to each participant. Please visit our Panchakarma page for rough daily schedules and more info on these retreats.

OUR RETREATS

In ancient civilizations, people healed in communities. It is our goal to tap into this wisdom and guide you through a unique experience. Through these group containers, we are able to share educational material, and give you new tools to integrate into your lifestyle to better your quality of life. Our menu of retreats range from yoga, male embodiment, female awakening, fitness , weight-loss, and sacred meditation retreats. We are committed to sharing our extensive Ayurvedic knowledge by providing massage, nutrition, and lifestyle workshops.

Our story

A NOTE FROM SYLVIA

There are places you visit that just change your life. For some people, it's an exotic far-away place, like a magnificent city in Europe. For others, it can be your neighbours's house.

For me, it was this place, back then called Finca Caribe.

I'm a Puerto Rican native, but I was living in New York at the time. 25 years ago, the film commission had granted me the task of documenting my whole home island through photography, to serve as a bank of images for film location managers in LA and other parts of the world.

By the end of my 3-month tour, I landed at Finca Caribe. I recognized its magic and special energy immediately. A love affair started. When anyone asked me what my favorite place in the world from all my travels was, I would say without hesitation:

"Finca Caribe in Vieques."

Eventually, I befriended the owner at the time, Corky Parker, and my visits became more and more frequent…

La Botanica

our sister hotel in San Juan

A hidden eden in the heart of San Juan.

La Botánica is an 8 bedroom boutique hotel in the vibrant city of San Juan— just a few steps from the beach, an amazing culinary selection, and spectacular night scene.

La Botánica is an urban “Shangri-La” lovingly curated and designed by our founder, Sylvia De Marco.

This hotel used to be her home. Much of her incredible collection of contemporary local art and family furniture decorate the space.

Our urban eden offers daily morning yoga in a luscious garden, followed by a nourishing Ayurvedic breakfast. In the living space, you’ll find complimentary coffee and tea available 24/7, and a specialty shop curated with local crafts, jewelry, and souvenirs.

On Friday nights, La Botánica transforms into a pop-up restaurant featuring an incredible vegan chef who sources from local farms to bring you exciting and fresh flavors.

Staying at La Botanica is different than staying at a hotel.

Staying here is an experience.
